UNJJ 2009 Congratulations

Congratulations to everyone from Park Lodge who competed at the United Nations of Ju Jitsu International congress in Blackpool.

Park Lodge had a fantastic time at the UNJJ international championships in Blackpool 9th-11th October.  The hard working team came away with a total of 18 individual medals, and a Gold team medal as well.

Sensei Chris Harvey would like to express his congratulations and extreme thanks to all the students for all their hard work, and for representing their club with the dedication, enjoyment and respect that we hope for.  And also to all the parents of our junior team members, as without their committment we could not have trained and taken so many of our younger students to this international event.

We are proud of all of our students, those who won medals, and those who did not (this time) as they all tried their hardest, and displayed good sportsmanship throughout.  For many this was their first ever competition (there's nothing like starting at the top!).  All of our students performed well, in kata, in random attacks classes, when sparring or ground fighting, and when performing their demonstrations.  The competition level is high, but we came away proud that everyone had tried so hard, and done so well.
